Massmart’s new head of ecommerce, Sylvester John, has divulged the company’s plans to develop a market-leading online shopping experience in South Africa.

Game now sells food and groceries on Uber Eats – sometimes for cheaper than competitors do in store. And it is surprisingly cheap.

On the 6th of May 2021, Massmart officially opened its new Distribution Centre in the Brackengate 2 precinct, in Brackenfell, Cape Town. This marks the completion of the construction project which began in October 2019.

Builders has developed a new store prototype which debuts at Builders Warehouse Boksburg, Gauteng tomorrow. Dubbed The Store of The Future, this new 15 170m2 store features a technologically advanced design and a bouquet of services that simplify customer’s lives.

We know that we have an important role to play not only in minimising waste from our own operations and products, but also by encouraging our customers and suppliers to minimise their waste production and to recycle as much as possible.

Since inception, the Massmart Renewable Energy Programme has generated approximately 17 million kWh of energy, equivalent to the energy used to power 5000 households in a year.
