Massmart, the third largest distributor of consumer goods in Africa announces the appointment of Llewellyn Walters as Divisional CEO of Builders Warehouse, effective 1 November. Walters takes up the post recently vacated by Audrey Cimring, who will emigrate to Canada on 14 November.

Walters, joins Massmart from Super Group where he was Divisional Managing Director responsible for the group’s African operations.

Prior to joining Super Group in June 2003 year, Walters spent almost thirteen years in the banking industry, where he held senior positions in a number of specialist financial institutions before joining ABSA.

“Builders Warehouse is seen as a pioneer in introducing retail principles to the home improvement sector. I am optimistic that my time as CEO will be one of great opportunity and I look forward to rising to the challenge,” he says.

Llewellyn Walters holds a BA LLB from The University of The Witwatersrand (WITS).
